Release - Haiku

fighting the mundane
dragging it day after day
that’s what they call life

that’s what they call life
crib, complain and go to sleep
wake up, follow same

wake up, follow same
play the game, as we all await
day of release

Drive - Haiku

striving I have been
to drive myself away, from
your numerous thoughts

your numerous thoughts
clinging tight under my skin
not letting me breathe

not letting me breathe
I choke on our memories
they refuse to fade

they refuse to fade
and you cascade inside me
wounding me again

wounding me again
yet, it's driving me nearer
to my past in you

Comfort - Haiku

when world is cruel
and emotions unnamed surge
words, you comfort me

*****

tired, broken, angry
life be hard, but mother's lap
of comfort it smells

Trustworthy and Torn : Haiku

Trustworthy
claims tall every time
change they shall bring for all
country, emptied of trust

Torn
one gave life
life partner other, differences amongst
torn poor me

Sand : Haiku

Etched in sand
Temporary it is
May ‘we’ sustain forever though

*********************************************************************************************

Like castles, we built of sand
Wish life could be molded
Like we wanted

You never realize
How quick they grow
And like sand, time slips away

Scrap : Haiku

It broke once
Functions regularly still
But useless scrap it has been

********************************************************************************************
           Thrown away carelessly
But my bread and butter
It turns out to be

********************************************************************************************

Worn on special days
Your favourite piece me
Dusting away today

********************************************************************************************

Smiles they once brought
Some painful goodbyes later
Pieces of scrap for me
