naïve
you walk
open
hearted
true
to self, true to all
walls
around your heart
you
don’t grow
visible
everything in your eyes
happiness
and sorrow
you
speak
speak
your deepest thoughts
in
what you believe
and,
sometimes what others made you see
in
front of those
who
you thought were your own
unknowing,
unaware
that
you are being judged
opinions
true, false and half baked
being
formed
to
be used against you
when
time is ripe
when
you differ
to their ideas of conformity
after
all, one and all around
are
looking for nothing
but
an echo of their opinions
and
you sit and wonder
at
your candor
or
stupidity to be true
because
your guards were never in place
open
hearted
true
to self, true to all
you
have been
but
there are times
when
you start to unlearn
in what you believed
and
when you begin to disbelieve
what you had learnt
that’s
when your walls begin to grow
when
seeds of trust
only
in yourself
you
learn to sow

So easy to be tricked.. unfortunately good intentions are always eaten by those who care less.
ReplyDeleteYeah.. rightly said !!
Deleteoy...i would say to speak the truth and hold on to the truth would be the ultimate goal, regardless of what others might think...pretty sad to be persuaded from your truth intot he apathy of others....
ReplyDeleteBut that's the irony of life, isn't it, Brian??
DeleteSo true... you form trust and learn from them, and eventually you realize to trust yourself more when the hopes and trust is broken, when the learnings were unlearned. That is how we all live!!!! Thoughtful! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Shesha :)
Delete"but there are times

We all have gone through this.
Wise creation this one!
Yep, we all have been there. Thanks babes !!
DeleteThis caught my attention:
ReplyDelete"opinions

being formed

This happens far too often with people.
It sure does, Justin.
DeleteIt is painful that one has to erect proverbial walls around oneself to survive this world... maybe that is why it is important to pen down the real feelings and let the verses relieve the pain...
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely correct Nimi.
DeleteBut then life is a good teacher, and you learn on the way :-)
ReplyDeleteThat's real truth and I really I liked the way you played with the words ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot Vikram. Glad you liked it :)
DeleteVery beautifully said...
ReplyDeleteThe walls indeed begin to grow when reality strikes us...
Yep they do. Thank you.
DeleteI adored this. Sometimes it can be hard to stand out in the crowd but it's so worth it!
