a
simmering thought
held
on for too long
unnecessarily
brooded upon
born
on discords
thrives
on egos
burning
the edges of personas
a
cloudy mist
blocking
the thoughts
condensing
into invisible walls
deeper
cracks
sneaking
within, straining
the
feelings, resentment reeling
bumpy
life
jolts
away peace
happiness
slowly tumbling
But
how
long, do you
hold
on to those grudges
and
let annoyance grow upon
how
long, do you
be
blinded of the efforts
getting
not pacified at all
how
long, do you
not
clean the wounds
you’ve
given or taken on
how
long, do you
writhe
and let writhe
ignore
aching soul’s calls
how
long ??

post is written as a part of April A to Z Challenge 2014 under Non-Themed category.
I am doing two posts for this Challenge and Themed posts can be found here.
If only doing what was good to be done, was as easy as to know what were good to be done :)
ReplyDeleteWe humans are kind of fools in that respect. Most of us do know that we need to think a bit more positively, and let go of things that hold us back.... It takes a lot of courage and determination to do that. Only if we were courageous enough to do that :)
You say it all, Mysterio.. If only, we were courageous enough to do that !!
DeleteVery nice line on grudges that we hold too long to our detriment.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Sir :)
DeleteHow long can the soul suffer the bashing of your personal ego.
ReplyDeleteThis was a beautiful post.
Thanks Red !!
DeleteHaa ! Only if we could let them go !!! :)
ReplyDeleteYep, if only :(
DeleteI think it's better to cry, hit, pound and let go of the frustration instead of brooding and scratching the wound. Nice one :)
ReplyDeleteIt sure is Prasanna.. Dont know why people cant let go.. Thanks dear:)
DeleteOh wow! Wonderful questions raised. I don't hold grudges. I kill the people who caused them, inside my head.
ReplyDeleteNo person, no grudge. :D
Haha!! That's a wonderful wonderful way Soumya ;)
DeleteMesmerizing Jyoysna. There are some emotions that are difficult to let go.
ReplyDeleteThank you Vishal :)
DeleteNice one Jyotsna. It's tough dealing with emotions sometimes. ..and there's only so much each of us can take
ReplyDeleteThanks Sid. Yes, there is only so much one can take..!! I mean, how long do you suffer the brunt of grudges :(
DeleteNice thoughts Jyotsna. You have a way with words. Good luck with rest of the challenge.

Thanks a lot Aarthi. Your comment sure made me smile :)
DeleteThose questions- "The How Long" part, elevates this poem into an altogether different level. Brilliant :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Amrit :)
DeleteI really liked this, particularly:
ReplyDelete"how long, do you
not clean the wounds
you’ve given or taken on"
It reminds us that not only to we make others (and often our own loved ones) suffer, but we also choose to keep our own old wounds open, even if "our aching souls" are crying out in anguish. Why do we do this to ourselves?
Thank you.
Thanks a lot Josna. Well, you could say the grudges take over sanity and that keeps us suffering, not allowing us to relieve our 'aching souls' from the pain.
DeleteVery lovely thoughts dear!!! I can so well feel the words you have written!
